The Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association was formed in March, 1962 as a non- profit organization by five veterinarians. Guided by the principles of veterinary medical ethics, this founding group of veterinarians sought to advance the science and art of veterinary medicine, including its relationship to public health and agriculture by establishing RIVMA. Their vision of the association 45 years ago remains constant today.
